From an early age, Ash was driven by competition and discipline. As a swimmer, he competed at multiple national championships and a Commonwealth trials, earning a scholarship to the University of New Orleans before transferring to Nova Southeastern University. Training over 20 hours a week in the pool instilled a relentless work ethic that continues to shape his approach today.

After university, life lacked structure. Late nights working in bars and racecourses led Ash to seek a challenge that demanded discipline - the Royal Marines. The Corps’ values, particularly integrity, became ingrained in his character. Operating at a high level of skill and professionalism in the Marines set the foundation for the standards he upholds at COA Performance.

COA Performance began organically. Initially, Ash helped fellow Marines with mobility and soft tissue issues while designing training programs. As his interest deepened, it evolved into a business, and in 2021, he left the Marines to run it full-time.

Outside of work, Ash spends time with his girlfriend, Jenn and dog, Goose. A Level 2 CrossFit Instructor himself, he enjoys pushing his limits through CrossFit training and competitions, Spartan Races, half marathons and exciting adventure races. His dedication to learning never stops - he’s currently studying a Movement Therapy Diploma, Advanced Anatomy and Biomechanics of Training, and working towards UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) accreditation.

Ash is passionate about helping athletes achieve their goals, whether by managing injuries, discussing mindset, or optimizing training. His journey - from elite swimmer to Royal Marine to performance specialist - has shaped his philosophy: success comes from discipline, integrity, and a relentless pursuit of improvement.
